Background
Cerebral Palsy and Autism Renaissance Organization CPARO was founded by persons with Cerebral Palsy, Autism and their parents.
CPARO is a registered Non-Governmental Organization under Registration Number INDR145232247NB and her major objective is to advocate for the rights and delivery of desired services to people with Cerebral Palsy and Autism. Mr. Deo Sekandi, one of the founders with Cerebral Palsy, won the Queen’s Young Leaders’ Award at Buckingham Palace and was also recognized by former President of United States of America, Barrack Obama. He has also won other Awards for the great work he is doing in areas of disability especially in serving persons with Cerebral Palsy and Autism after realizing that people with Cerebral Palsy were marginalized and not included in the disability developmental programs. He is currently pursuing a PhD at the Cambridge University- UK.
In pursuance of our cause, various interventions were made which include; Raising awareness, Education, Health, Economic empowerment among others. Cerebral Palsy and Autism Renaissance Organization (CPARO) found it difficult for people with Cerebral Palsy and Autism to progress in their livelihood hence the formation of the Organization (CPARO) for better performance in the year 2019. CPARO is still mobilizing resources to implement its programs in different areas of Uganda.
